Missionary of the Week

Ron & Peg Smith
Mission to the World
Grand Cayman/Caribbean Region

We are pleased to report good news of great progress in ministry, thanks to the support and faithful prayers of many back home.

Our long-awaited employment visa was granted in March, opening wide the door for ministry throughout the Cayman Islands, and on other islands throughout the Caribbean as the Lord directs. Missions ministry trips are already on the calendar for September. I will be teaching Lifestyle Evangelism in Jamaica and Grenada.

Church Revitalization Continues At Boatswain Bay Presbyterian Church

God Is Working! Life and liveliness are on the upswing at the church in Boatswain Bay. As the
Gospel is shared and the way of faith explained, we are seeing men and women, young and old surrender their lives to Christ. We will be adding new members to the church in several worship services during July.

Various ministries are going and growing, including a Young Professionals group, a Parents group, and Men’s Fellowship. Peg is helping and encouraging the children’s and women’s ministries. The women of the church are working together on projects in both the church and the community of Boatswain Bay. Their plans include a Women’s Retreat in the fall.

A couple needed a “bi-lingual pastor” for their wedding and they found Ron by “divine appointment.” They came to faith during pre-marital counseling, and are now attending BBPC. He’s a Brit; she’s from Ecuador!!

Our Men’s Fellowship has grown to around 20 men who have made a commitment to put God first and walk His way. We are seeking to persuade others to commit their way to the Lord, believing that if the men of the church stand up for Jesus, God will bless our homes, our families and our community.

The Elders and Deacons are planning a Leadership and Vision Retreat in September. We are seeking the Lord’s guidance in defining who we are, where we are going and how we are hoping to get there.

Prayer Requests from the Smiths:

· Pray for VBS in July and new children’s programs being planned for September.
· Praise the Lord for new births and signs of spiritual growth at Boatswain Bay
· Presbyterian Church! Pray that we will grow in our love and commitment to Christ and our love and service to one another.
· Pray for our church leaders as we plan a seminar on “The Christian, The Bible, Sex and Sexuality.” No longer may the subject remain unaddressed!
· Pray for Ron as he ministers to pastors and churches in other Caribbean islands.
