For about a year now a small team of men have been meeting together to pray, dream, and plan about how to get more of our men at V7 connected to each other and the church. We believe that God calls us as men to be sacrificial leaders, and that when that happens our church and city could be very different.
Towards that end, we hope to launch some new small groups in the Fall that are connected to our communities, though men don't have to be a part of a community to come. The small groups will center on either fathering, work, or growing as a Christian. You'll be hearing more soon about an event we have planned at the end of August to help launch these.
Our first step is a vision dinner on Sunday, July 18 at 6:00 p.m. in Leonard Hall. Any man that wants to be a part of this is invited to come. Please rsvp to gwesterlund@v7pc.org so we know how much food to get.
Why should you be involved? We’re not interested in another activity to only make you busier, or something that any organization with catchy slogans could accomplish. We want men to be changed from the inside out. We want men to see not only that they need Jesus more than they ever thought, but that he gives more than they ever thought. It’s not until men see that they don’t have to pay God back or earn his favor, and that they taste of God’s grace, that we’re changed in every part of our life. We want men to get that so not just their lives work better, but that their families, jobs, and cities are changed. So if you want to be a part of this, come on Sunday, July 18 at 6:00 p.m. in Leonard Hall, eat some good food, and hear about what God might do.
Bryan
